Not only does a halo add sparkle, it also functions as protection for the center diamond. A halo can transform a smaller diamond into a dramatic statement. While round is the most common, any center diamond shape can be surrounded in halo. Often, halo engagement rings will have no other diamond accents, creating the appearance of an "enhanced solitaire."
